Hi

At Wolverhampton we instituted a system of 1 week automatic extensions for any student who is supported by SSW dept. Prior to that all extensions had to be applied for individually. As one of the staff members involved in sorting out extensions etc, it saved a lot of time not having to complete individual applications, and meant we had more time to support in other ways. The majority of the students I have worked with under this system do not abuse it, they tend to use it as an insurance policy -they aim to submit by the original date, but know that they have the extra week should circumstances change.

Take care

Karen

Central permits 2 weeks additional time for student with adjustments in place.  However, students do have complete a simple form each time they want to access it, to encourage them to only use it when they need to.

Hi,

Our university is currently reviewing its mitigating circumstances procedures.

I am interested to know whether any institutions have automatic extensions in place (e.g. additional 7 days) for students with disabilities, in particular dyslexia?

Any feedback or alternative arrangements in place would be useful to know.  Thanks in advance!

Best Wishes
Neal
