Seminar on ‘Intersectionality: Experiences of inclusion and exclusion’ - Uppsala University – 12 February 2018

The Department of Informatics and Media at Uppsala University, with the support of the Swedish Institute, is organising a one-day seminar on intersectionality on the 12th February 2018.

This seminar will focus on intersectionality and how the different forms of discrimination combine, overlap, or intersect. Attendance is free, but prior registration is requested.

Panel I: Intersectionality beyond feminist studies

The seminar is open to and welcomes representatives from diverse sectors in an attempt to bring together a variety of stakeholders in issues related to social inclusion such as, but not limited to:
•Academia (PhD students, young researchers, postgraduate students, senior researchers); •Civil society (experts, NGOs/CSOs representatives, activists of social movements, communication networks and groups); •Public sector (policy makers, elected officials etc.); •Media (journalists, editors-in-chief, media professionals and practitioners); •Open to wider audience: students, public at large.

The seminar will take place at Uppsala University, in the Ekonomikum building, in Uppsala, Sweden.
