Dear All,

Applications are invited for a Clinical Scientist based in the Biochemistry Departments of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. Currently the department has laboratories on three sites and has an annual workload in excess of 5 million tests. Approval has recently been given for the building of a new Specialist Critical Care Centre which will house state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. The successful applicant will join a team of 5.2 WTE Clinical Scientists and a 1.0 WTE Consultant Chemical Pathologist.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with a broad general background. The post holder will be required to participate in all aspects of the service including the provision of clinical advice as Duty Biochemist and act as the Lead Clinical Scientist in the Specialist Assays section of the Laboratory.

The post holder will be educated to at least Masters level, be HCPC registered as a Clinical Scientist and have completed, or be near to completing FRCPath. Should applicants not meet the essential criteria for this post appointment to a lower band would be considered.
This post is a full time position, however applications from candidates interested in job share arrangements would be welcomed.

I would be happy to have an informal chat with any interested candidates.

Closing Date Wednesday 13th December.

Best wishes

Cath
