It is really sad!
The question I ask is :
Is it not ideal to have a system to review the ABGs or any severely abnormal POCT results in the hospital , e.g in our LIMS authorisation lists and phone it through, regardless of the biochemicl knowledge of clinical teams, instead of worrying too much about phoning potassium at 6.2 or 6.3 mmol/L or sodium of 120 or 119 mmol/L.

Mehdi
This is a truly tragic case
The questions I ask are
1. Are Medical students getting adequate training in Acid/Base ?.
2. do we need to teach Acid/ Base to Consultants, as well as junior doctors and Medical students….? "
( see page 2 )

Subject: Re: Overdiagnosis of Negligence? The case of Dr Hadiza Bawa-Garba (ask the GMC for guidance on use of e-portfolio)
This just out from the BMJ is dynamite .....please enter your rapid responses on the BMJ website. The most obvious question from all of this is this, why was Dr Bawa-Garba ever convicted?
I with others have drafted a letter to either the Sunday Times or Times, I will submit on Saturday morning, if you wish to add your name, go to https://www.gopetition.com/petitions/letter-to-the-media-re-gmc-and-dr-hadiza-bawa-garba.html
