Hi
zooarch colleagues,
I’m forwarding an email that might be of interest to some of you, from someone who I met several years ago while I was doing modern taphonomy fieldwork in Kenya. She said the
teacher and students would very much welcome expert guidance from scientists.
Thanks!
Briana

Subject: Student research project on skeleton preparation at the International Institute in Chalapa, Mexico
Hi Briana,
Thanks for chatting with me earlier! This is the project I mentioned, a study of how mealworms might be used as an alternate method of flesh removal in the preparation
of skeletons (https://experiment.com/projects/maceration-of-skull-tissue-by-mealworms).
Mariana, Tatiana, Abril, and Tamara are working with their Green Council teacher, Matt, to crowdfund this project so they can buy supplies and collect data. They are very close to their crowdfunding goal (about $50/10%) away, and would appreciate any support
they can get! If you could forward this to your zooarchaeology list serve, that would be fantastic.
Thanks so much!
Nicole
