Hello there,

My daughter, Alice Butler, and I have received a commission about the 1839 Newport Rising (the last armed insurrection on British soil): creating the voices, textually, of George Shell (shot by troops - real person) and Charlotte-Alice Bingham (who tried to staunch his wounds - fictive).

I am compiling a list of all the pubs in the area that were involved in the Rising and intend to walk them next spring/summer. Local historians are helping me along the way.

I intend to visit alone, or in small groups, and then have a sort of Chartist Convention group pilgrimage, with podcasting etc.
