I saw the latest Spoken Nerd show at Norwich Science Festival last week, and Matt calculated the value of pi, using a pendulum which had a pie as its weight – he issued cards with instructions on how to do this, which I have. It seems to me that Pie Comm would be the perfect place to try this, assuming the pub is willing to sacrifice a pie, or someone is willing to stump up for one……….

Hi all

Pie Comm is a chance to meet up informally with others in or interested in STEM communication in North East England, for networking, ideas sharing, and most importantly, pie. The next Pie Comm will be on 22nd November at the Redhouse bar, Newcastle from 6pm. All welcome – please share with any you think might be interested. We’ll be in the cellar room at the back.
