Dear Colleagues,

Dartford Grammar School would like to invite you to the Japanese, Mandarin and European Languages IB Networking Event on Monday 15th January 2018.

The afternoon will be an opportunity for teachers to discuss developments relating to the IB Diploma, conduct moderation and share good practice. We are pleased to announce that UCL IOE Confucius Institute are supporting this event and will be present to discuss developments and initiatives in Mandarin.

Sessions will be divided into subject specific groups but there will be opportunities throughout the afternoon for teachers from each language to network.

Please see below a schedule for Mandarin delegates for the afternoon:

Venue:                 Dartford Grammar School

13.00 - 13.30       Welcome address and information session about changes to the IB Specification for first teaching in September 2018
13.30 - 14.00       UCL IOE Confucius Institute: Informative session about educational initiatives and upcoming events
14.00 - 14.30       Sharing of resources and teaching ideas for the Ab initio course.
14.30 - 15.00       Break and refreshments
15.00 - 16.30       Moderation of Ab initio Individual Oral Exams and Written Assignments.

We welcome all schools, including those who do not currently teach the languages, but are interested in introducing or developing them.

There is no cost for attendance.
