In this certificate program, you will have the opportunity to learn the
fundamentals of user experience (UX) and how to apply user-centered
strategies to library websites and beyond. Students select six of the ten
courses listed below, taken in any order. None of the classes are formal
prerequisites. Topics covered include the key concepts of UX design and how
to employ them in your website projects, concepts in design thinking, the
ins and outs of information architecture, writing for the web, concepts in
universal design and accessibility, usability testing and other research
methods, service design, and how to create a website content strategy. All
together, these courses cover a breadth of topics that will equip you with
the skills necessary to create, manage, and sustain library websites and
other services that provide an excellent user experience.

Discounts: Institutions or individuals may purchase a bundle of 5
registrations for a discount of 10% off. These registrations can be used
over a period of one year from the date of purchase before expiring. They
can be used to register multiple people for a single course, or over time
for individual courses.

These are online classes that are taught asynchronously, meaning that
participants do the work on their own time as their schedules allow. The
classes do not meet together at any particular times, although the
instructor may set up optional sychronous chat sessions. Instruction
includes readings and assignments in one-week segments. Class participation
is in an online forum environment.

You can register through the first week of instruction of the first class.
The "Register" button on the web page for each class goes to our credit
card payment gateway, which may be used with personal or institutional
