Lancaster's running a quite crusty 4.4.0 on our headnode, but our pool nodes appear to running mainly 4.6.1 (with a few stop outs apparently, which makes me grumpy I like my disk servers all the same).

        The conclusion seems to be that 4.6.1 of xroot seems to be OK.
