Dear All,

The unique and independent review of the initial report of the Republic of China (Taiwan), outside of the UN system, was concluded in Taipei on 3 November 2017.

We covered this topic in our former issue No.157 (March 16, 2017) CRPD review of Taiwan - Nagase chairs the International Review Committee (http://www.arsvi.com/2010/170316eme.htm)

The International Review Committee (IRC), invited by the government, had a constructive dialogue with the government and sessions with the civil society, including organizations of persons with disabilities, for three days from 30 October to 1 November.   IRC, chaired by Professor Nagase Osamu, Eminent Professor of the Center for Ars Vivendi. released its Concluding Observations on 3 November 2017.

Very active and dynamic civil society and DPOs in Taiwan provided rich information in writing and in oral presentations and helped the IRC immensely.
