The Medical Research Council currently has a vacancy for a Records and Archive Project Officer, based in Swindon, to assist the Digital Archivist and Records Manager. In addition to assisting with the management of records within the Council's electronic records management system, the post holder will help to manage accession of electronic records and research data from external systems, proactively manage records needing medium-long term preservation and assist with transfer of electronic records to the National Archives.

Applicants should have previous experience in an information management related role (records, archive or library) as well as demonstrable experience using spreadsheets, databases and/or specialised software to manage records and collections. A solid understanding of information governance and records management best practice is desirable, as is a qualification in an information management related discipline, a high level of digital literacy and familiarity with technical standards relevant to records description and preservation (e.g., ISAD(G), Dublin Core, METS).
