Dear Julia,

Anne Bardot-Cambot and me have identified eaten *Ruditapes decussatus* on
the south Atlantic coasts of France during the Roman period. But in
Mediterranean Sea, this shellfish was not eaten, although it lived there
(isolated shells are found sometimes).
During Neolithic in Languedoc (mediterranean South of France), I have found
broken valves only one time in a little site (unpublished).

Hope it will help you.

Best regards

Vianney Forest
