A Strategic Approach to Embedding Employability in the Curriculum

Wednesday 18 October 2017, 12:30pm - 1:30pm

http://www.recordingachievement.ac.uk/images/stories/lhs_images/webinarch.jpg

Led by Gill Reindl, Hartpury College.

Following from the HEA guidance and key work supporting embedding employability in the curriculum, in particular building on the work commissioned by JISC exploring technology for employability, Hartpury have developed a detailed whole curriculum mapping tool identifying and evaluating the strength of employability factors embedded within the curriculum at modular, programme and department level. This recently launched tool will be used to inform discussion, curriculum design and annual reporting. To maximise effectiveness of this data, it will be kept current and ‘live’ by incorporating updates within all curriculum development approval as part of our quality process.

This webinar will showcase the tool and outline the process and challenges the team faced to achieve this across the whole curriculum. Project work is now ongoing to align this data with student perception utilizing similar questions around the JISC factors at point of entry and annually during the student journey. This important project has been a key milestone in our overarching Hartpury Advantage initiative.
