Dear All,

I'm trying to clear a backlog of specimen mounting at RNG and have reached the situation of having more volunteers than I have materials for specimen mounting. The rate limiting factor is the availability of the lead weights we use to hold specimens down while they are glued to herbarium sheets. We use old typesetters lead slugs for the job but we just don't have enough of these weights for the number of specimens we can mount in a day. Does anyone know of a source of lead slugs so I can buy some more or does anyone have a suggestion of an alternative type of weights that are available? I looked at the option of curtain weights but they just don't weigh enough.

Alastair
