Nicola Lagioia, the critically acclaimed Italian writer, will present the just-released English-translation of his novel
Ferocity while engaging in conversation with
Michael Reynolds, editor-in-chief of his US publisher Europa Editions.
Ferocity, Lagioia’s third novel, was awarded the Strega prize, Italy’s most prestigious literary prize in 2015. Described as “a mesmerizing exploration of failure, resilience, and profound, multifaceted loss” (Kirkus), this captivating novel reaffirms contemporary Italian literature’s prominent position in the international literary scene.
This event follows the success of last spring’s “Ferrante Fever at Hopkins” that brought Elena Ferrante’s translator and editor in lively conversation with scholars and readers from the Hopkins and Baltimore communities.
