Crafting Resistance Exhibition Launch, Modern Records Centre, University of Warwick

This exhibition of Chilean prison art explores the role of artistic practice in sustaining mental health and wellbeing in contexts of resistance. It challenges the notion of the prisoner as passive and offers insights into Chilean experience of incarceration in the late 20th century.


The exhibition will run until 17th November 2017 in the Modern Records Centre exhibition room.

Seminar on Chilean Theatre

The School of Modern Languages and Cultures is delighted to invite you to a seminar by Professor Catherine Boyle (KCL) with director Sue Dunderdale.


They will discuss their recent collaboration, 'From Periphery to Periphery. The Urgent Action of Translating Mad Man Sad Woman, by Juan Radrigán (Chile)’.

ARHC Chilean Exiles and World University Service Project Seminar:

'Supporting Exiles and Refugees 1970s to the Present'

A one-day seminar exploring the World University Service (WUS) programme of scholarships and support for Chilean exiles in the 1970s and 1980s, with former scholarship holders and WUS staff. The day will include a short film on the WUS programme, examine Chilean exile experiences in the UK in the light of other European destinations, and conclude with a round table on the lessons and parallels for refugee work today.
