Hello everyone

As part of Earth Science Week and to mark the 50th anniversary of the plate tectonics (through 1967), the Geological Society have today launched their project "Plate Tectonic Stories:"

Developed by their outreach team - it's very much aimed at the public at large, and there's a competition associated with it to add your own plate tectonic stories too. The site includes a bunch of short podcasts, stories about 20 places of tectonic significance in Britain and Ireland and twin sites around the world.

Chase it up at:

https://www.geolsoc.org.uk/tectonicstories

and follow the discussions on their usual social network outlets (Facebook, twitter).

There are also links on to a bunch of broader media coverage, especially linked to last week's conference, including various BBC outputs.

You can also check out the major new web resource that launched last week - the archive of Dan McKenzie's working papers and associated materials

https://www.mckenziearchive.org

Enjoy.

Best wishes

Rob
