Hi Fiona Not quite the same as your checking ID question as our invigilators do this. Any problems and a Senior Invigilator gets in touch with us straight away. We are a very large sixth form college and our policy for many years has been that we do not chase for absentees. There would just be too many rooms and potentially absent students to make it practical to try contacting them to get the students in within the hour. This policy is made known to candidates and parents via our Exams Guide available on the Student Intranet and e-mailed to each student before the November exams. This year they’ve added ‘and who have not had overall responsibility for the candidates preparation for the examination(s)’. Do we assume that rules out Heads of Department from assisting with the identification of students etc.?
