Records and Freedom of Information Manager
Full-time, 40 hours per week
£35,000 per annum
Fixed term for 18 months

We are currently seeking a Records and Freedom of Information Manager to join our Archive and Library team on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Senior Archive and Library Manager, the Records and Freedom of Information Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of effective records management policy and efficient procedures for the maintenance and disposition of all Gallery records in accordance with institutional, statutory and fiscal requirements.  Based in the Heinz Archive & Library, the post holder will oversee the management of the Gallery’s semi-current and current records in all formats and media, and advise staff in other departments on the management of their records and information. 

The Records and Freedom of Information Manager will also be responsible for managing all Freedom of Information Act requests received by the Gallery. They will advise colleagues on complex issues relating to Freedom of Information, Data Protection legislation and PCI compliance. Of key importance in the immediate term will be working with colleagues across the Gallery in preparation for the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May 2018.

The successful candidate will have a post-graduate qualification in records management, will be able to demonstrate experience and skills gained within a Records Manager role, ideally in a museum or heritage organisation or similar environment, and will be a confident communicator, with the ability to liaise with a range of staff at all levels within an organisation and to persuade colleagues.
