We are organising the "54th Gregynog Statistical Conference”, from Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th March 2018 at Gregynog Hall in Wales. This coming years conference will comprise 2 short courses, 4 research talks and a poster session aimed at a general mathematical audience (along with lots of opportunity to explore the numerous walks around the hall, eat the home baked cakes and take an excursion to Powis Castle!). We have a fantastic line-up of speakers this coming year, including:
- Louis Aslett (Durham) - "Statistical Cryptography” short course (3 lectures)
- Mark Briers (ATI)
- Owen Jones (Cardiff) - "Stochastic Simulation and Optimisation” short course (3 lectures)
- Christian Robert (Dauphine)
- Patrick Rubin-Delanchy (Bristol)
- Sara Wade (Warwick)
The conference has a fantastic history, tracing back to 1965, and over that time speakers have covered the great and good of statistics (including (to 1990): Henry Daniels, David Cox, Peter Bickel, David Kendall, George Barnard, John Nelder, Brad Efron, Adrian Smith, Peter Donnelly, David Spiegelhalter and Julian Besag), a full history of which can be found here -
