The Statistics Unit at Colindale, North London, is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated statistician with a track record in Bayesian methods, who will undertake work on the development of statistical approaches to evidence synthesis in substantive applications.

You will hold a degree in mathematics or a related subject and have acquired additional specialist statistical knowledge through a master’s degree or PhD in statistics. A track record of relevant research is required, with an emphasis on devising novel methodologies.

This post requires oversight and leadership of high profile projects, and therefore the bringing together of significant existing expertise in an environment of innovative and creative research. As many projects are business critical, the post-holder will be responsible for the work to an appropriately high level of analytical quality assurance.

The post holder will engage with a wide range of professional staff across NIS and academia, particularly within the MRC Biostatistics Unit, University of Cambridge, so excellent communication skills are essential.
