Senior Statistical Assessor, The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency. London The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research. The Licensing division is responsible for assessing and approving applications for marketing authorisations. These may be for new medicinal products (new active substances), new routes of administration or new formulations of existing drugs, generic drugs, parallel import applications, or herbals and homeopathic products. In addition, the Licensing division has the responsibility for assessing and granting clinical trial authorisations. The divisions’ activities span national licensing and European licensing, making a full contribution to the Mutual Recognition system and the Centralised system operated by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). The job holder will work within the Statistics and Pharmacokinetics Unit. The individual will use their statistical expertise to review Marketing Authorisation Applications and advise on good drug development, interacting with medical colleagues and multi-disciplinary advisory committees and company representatives as required.
