Autonomous can be described as being free from external control and
constraint in e.g. action and judgment. It is an adjective coming into
our space via contemporary technologies: autonomous vehicles, systems,
off grid infrastructure etc,.

The implication of the adjective “Autonomous” is deeply concerning and
mind riveting.

In a global arena where the world appears to be inter-connected there
are autonomous systems that are emerging.

In our part of the world Africa, the possibilities are enormous. For
instance, relatively poor African people, previously feared the
mainstream banking system that was perceived as watching over one's
earthly wealth. Then came a mobile phone which has pacified the
banking industry by bringing the banking system to one’s bed room.
(the right word is "services closer" to the people(masses))

One keep the money and uses it as one wants on a mobile phone
including getting small loans that does not require any security what
so ever! The trust is very considerate.

Well economists are in for a big shock, as maybe there is an
uncontrolled growth of the public debt! Well that's the old analogy
since people really as it appears now can control their borrowing!

In the same spirit, banks have leapfrogged into the new system by
offering ones mobile number as one's account at least here in Uganda.
The revolution will not be televised – it is now true decisions are
longer made in the boardroom by direct from society on streets,
ramshackle villages where society is taking up technology and how the
same society is reacts to it in more than fascinating instances.

We need to under these new financial systems academically and
practically at www.uidc-ea.org - you are welcome.
