Two postdoctoral Positions in Vision Neuroscience at Duke University An interdisciplinary team of faculty at Duke’s School of Medicine, School of Engineering, and Center for Cognitive Neuroscience has been awarded a Brain Initiative NIH grant to investigate the neural mechanisms of vision using TMS combined with EEG or fMRI in humans or with single-cell recording in non-human primates. We are inviting applications for two postdoctoral positions for human research, one emphasizing EEG and the other, fMRI. We seek applicants with expert knowledge in TMS, EEG, and/or fMRI. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated scientific track record with past projects that cohere with some aspects of the programs described above. Desired skills for this position include knowledge in several of the following: psychometrics/psychophysics, TMS, EEG, source and electric-field modeling, fMRI, computational modeling, and cognitive neuroscience. Individuals with a Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, neurobiology, engineering or related fields are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities will include research protocol development, data collection and analysis of behavioral, TMS, EEG, and fMRI data, manuscript and grant preparation, and the mentoring and supervision of students and research assistants. This project will provide an opportunity to interact with a diverse team of researchers and large cognitive neuroscience community at Duke University This position comes with full benefits, and applicants will gain on-the-job training and certification. Rank and salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Postdoc pay will be based on current NIH scales (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.nhlbi.nih.gov_research_funding_general_nrsa-2Dfund-2Dguide&d=DwIFaQ&c=imBPVzF25OnBgGmVOlcsiEgHoG1i6YHLR0Sj_gZ4adc&r=ZLeiRv8bM1idYk5CZGmb4Xox-MW-T91gVxQmuG7Y8QU&m=FiVKvz-9gsHPWYrov13NbaEO-J_THwxIc94BxtXZghA&s=gAZ8CQ53tQaqoAOAVDBPwdnqAsMh16vu_QgxEbFa-74&e= ). Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support. Review of candidates will start immediately, and will continue until the position is filled. The position will be available as soon as the search process is completed. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Durham NC, or the surrounding area. To apply for the position please send an email to Dr. Greg Appelbaum ([log in to unmask]) for EEG emphasis and to Dr. Roberto Cabeza ([log in to unmask]) for fMRI emphasis. The email should include a current CV, a letter of interest with the expected date of availability, and the names and contact information for at least three references.
