Overview Of Role
Are you a keen science communicator with a healthy respect for the potential of social media?
Can you communicate so that the challenges come from the content and not from its presentation?
Do you listen, learn and contribute? 

We are looking for a talented digital communications specialist to join our team.
They will help to raise the profile of our UK-based, globally relevant agricultural research institute.
We want the public, farmers, industry, policymakers and collaborators to find out more about what we do.

With experienced editorial input and oversight from the rest of the team, you will be expected to ensure that
content on our new science, our people and our public events reaches out via Facebook, Twitter, YouTube,
Instagram and other channels to maintain a consistent and engaged daily online presence.

You will also ensure that editorial content on our new website is in tip-top editorial shape day-to day.

About you:
You will have proven experience of communicating science-based subjects to a lay audience
You will have proven experience of digital communications
You will be fascinated by science
You will have a sound understanding of potential new ways to deliver science content 
You will be a reliable, creative, professional individual keen to contribute to a team with a science focus
You may have created short films/infographics/video content on science subjects for a lay audience
You will have plans for consistent ways to reach existing audiences and new ones through digital communications
You will be bursting with creative ideas for formats/production
You may have a journalistic background, or always have worked in communications
You may have some experience of crisis communications
You will know that trust is earned, and understand why you don't tell, but engage and show
