Hi- yes, we’ve done this in the NW- as part of Renaissance and more recently in association with Alex Bird (Museum Development NW, he can give more details). In terms of resources, I put some together a few years back that can be found at this link, the advocacy toolkit being the most relevant bit:

Happy to talk more if its useful.
All the best,
Henry

Subject: Nat Sci training / resources for non-specialists - examples

Hi All,

Have you delivered training in working with natural sciences collections to non-specialist museum professionals or volunteers?

If so, what was the context to this?

Are the resources you used or produced available online?

Bristol Museums and partners in the South West region are currently undertaking a project which includes a strand to support non-specialists working with natural sciences collections, including via training. We would be interested in understanding other examples and resources out there.

Please reply off list to: [log in to unmask]

Many thanks,

Isla
