Hello all, the deadline for abstracts for ISA 2018 is 30 September, very soon… Please make sure you submit to RC13 sessions next week, before the deadline, or you will miss out!


The International Sociological Association is holding its next World Congress of Sociology in Toronto in 2018 (Power, Violence and Justice: Reflections, Responses and Responsibilities: Toronto, Canada, July 15-21, 2018

As part of the conference, Research Committee 13 (Sociology of Leisure) is running a number of exciting sessions, and the ISA system is now OPEN for people who want to SUBMIT an abstract. Please pass this to anyone who might be interested! Contact me (Karl Spracklen) if you have any questions. You will need to register on the ISA system to submit an abstract. The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2017.

Dear all,

Apologies for cross-posting. We the Research Committee 13 Sociology of Leisure welcome abstracts to be presented at the 2018 International Sociological Association World Congress in Toronto. Our presidential session entitled "Power, Violence and Justice: Reflections, Responses and Responsibilities in Leisure and Leisure Studies" will invite Drs. Diana Parry and Troy Glover (Waterloo University), Lynne Chiochetto (Massey University) and Rasul Mowatt (Indiana University). Please consider joining us! The abstract (300 words max) is due on September 30, 2017.

Also we are launching a NEW LEISURE JOURNAL called the International Journal of Sociology of Leisure with Springer. The journal is affiliated with our research committee. Please check the journal info here! (http://www.springer.com/social+sciences/sociology/journal/41978)
