We have an opportunity for an early career qualified information professional, preferably with some science knowledge, to join a small team delivering digital Library & Information Services to researchers at the Francis Crick Institute. A key part of the role is support for open access but duties will it also involve current awareness, information literacy and backup for ILL and subscriptions work.

 

This is a new post suitable for a recently qualified librarian looking to gain experience of delivering information services in a biomedical research-intensive environment. There will be provision of training in a variety of skills including current awareness, alert services, customer service, information literacy training, inter-library loans, open access and research data.

 

This role supports the development and delivery of professional, specialist, user-centred information services to all Crick staff. The new Crick building is designed to facilitate open, collaborative working – a key part of the Crick ethos – and the post holder will have a chance to help us evolve Library and Information Services in this environment, with a view to enhancing the user experience.

 

The successful candidate will have some experience of research libraries and a knowledge of open access and open research.
