National Theatre Archive

 

The Natioanl Theatre Archive is the repository for the creative, technical and administrative records of the National Theatre. The collection covers the movement to found the National Theatre and from the start of the company from 1963 to the present. The archive is open to everyone by appointment. The Archive also holds several deposited corporate and personal collections.

The visit covers an induction for around 45 minutes, which will include an introduction to the NT, its Archive, online exhibitions and catalogue. Then a tour to the basement to show the materials and have a walk through the research room to see our facilities, which usually takes another 45 minutes. Also a tour to the main site to see the exhibition spaces that the Archive contributes to also you get to see backstage and the paint frame etc.
