Resistance in Italian Culture: Literature, Politics and Film, 5th-6th April 2018, University of Sussex

Panel: The agency of Fernanda Pivano     

2017 marks the centenary of the birth of Fernanda Pivano (1917-2009). In the broader context of the conference Resistance in Italian Culture: Literature, Politics and Film (Sussex University), this panel aims to assess Pivano’s role as main catalyst for the dissemination and reception of American literature in the Italian literary market place. This panel welcomes presentations on Fernanda Pivano and her work, exploring the many-sided outcomes of her agency in the cultural and publishing landscape of post-war Italy.
