Dear all The visit is free and available to anyone with an interest in the provision of health information. The visit is being coordinated by the LaSE NHS Libraries Staff Development Group. Please see information about the upcoming visit to Macmillan Cancer Support below, which is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge about providing health information to patients and the public, a key focus for NHS libraries. For those working on CILIP Chartership or similar, the visit will help you to explore your wider library, information and knowledge sector context. Monday 9th October, 2pm. On this visit, you'll hear from * The Cancer Information Development team, on how we produce our patient information material and make it available to as wide a range of people as possible * Our Macmillan Support Line, a telephone helpline providing information and support on every aspect of a cancer diagnosis, including treatment, money, work and emotional impact * Our Mobile Information and Support Service, a fleet of buses taking information out to harder-to-reach audiences * Our Library and Information Specialist, who provides information support for the MSL teams, and professional support for identifying research and evidence for oncology and cancer care for anyone in Macmillan.
