Is this the only ghost that has managed to make it onto a current HER record?

Earlier this year I was checking through some HER entries from a 1990 rapid survey of buildings in Salford and found one described as follows:

“Attractive but completely refurbished and modernised. The only original feature is its structure and ghost.”

Sadly the building has since been demolished, but I guess the plot could still be haunted...

Subject: Friday afternoon question - Funny HER records

Dear all,

One of my favourite things about HER Forum is the Friday afternoon question. Not always held on a Friday afternoon or indeed a Friday it has become part of the legend that is HER Forum. As this is my final Friday (don’t worry I’m still here Monday & Tuesday of next week!) I figured it was time I unleashed a Friday afternoon question on you all.

I want to know about all the odd, strange and bizarre HER records you have on your HER or have spotted on one. It could be an odd type of site (did you know Wiltshire has a panda?) or a strange or funny description for a record. Ideally something that makes you laugh ☺

So go on, share your HER gems - and if you can share a link to the record on Heritage Gateway you get extra points ☺

All the best

Sarah
