A Translation Workshop on the Works of Herta Müller
led by Dr Lyn Marven, University of Liverpool ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>)

at UCL (Roberts Building, room 110)
on Wed 20 Sept, 9.30am - 5pm

Workshop is free, but booking required - see below.

This workshop will examine the challenges of translating Müller's short prose and collages, starting in the morning with a discussion of existing translations before moving on to tackle a short prose text from one of her first collections. In the afternoon we will focus on her collages, which we will reproduce as collages using cut outs.
Refreshments are provided; lunch will be at your own cost.

Texts and collage materials will be supplied.

This workshop is aimed at translators from German as well as those interested in the works of Herta Müller. Places are limited, so please email Lyn Marven [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> to register your interest in attending!
