Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley and working within Legal and Democratic Services you will be part of our Information Governance team. You will oversee Renfrewshire Council’s compliance with regulatory and statutory provisions insofar as they apply to records management, lead on the implementation of the Council’s Records Management Plan and provide advice and guidance on all records management issues to the Council. You will have oversight of Services’ retention and disposal schedules; promote good records management; raise awareness of records management issues; develop and deliver training in records management and manage the Council’s corporate records store. It is essential that you are educated to Degree level (or equivalent) with a post graduate qualification in archives/ records management. It is also essential that you have; knowledge of the requirements of the Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011 and of Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation; the ability to manage a range of tasks across a broad records management based remit; the ability to work as part of a team, within minimal supervision, progress tasks and manage a varied and extensive workload and demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.

 

It is desirable that you have relevant experience in Records Management issues. It is also desirable that you have; an awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements and best practice related to records management; the ability to deal with databases and spreadsheets; knowledge of Electronic Document and Records Management systems and are familiar with a range of common software packages.
