The Royal Institution (Ri) based in Mayfair currently has opportunities for two Professional Internships for PhD students. They are exciting opportunities and will have varying levels of involvement in the delivery of the famous Royal Institution Christmas Lectures.

Media and communications Assistant – November 2017 to January 2018

This placement would be ideal for anyone interested in learning more about science communication through the media and experiencing what it is like to work in a fast- paced press office.

The closing dates for applications is midnight on Monday 4 September 2017

Digital intern –from October to December 2017 (with flexibility)

This role would be ideal for someone who would like to gain experience working in digital media and science communication fields. During the project, you will be working with a creative team of media producers and digital communication professionals.

Prior experience of media production isn’t essential for the role, but we are looking for someone who enjoys listening, watching and reading science content online. Ideally you will have some experience of communicating science online – be it on social media or a blog – along with a keen eye for detail and a knack for interpreting science for a range of audiences.

The closing dates for applications is midnight on Tuesday 29 September 2017
