Contract Cheating is a “form of academic dishonesty where students get academic work completed on their behalf, which they then submit for academic credit [and/or advantage] as if they had created it themselves” (“About Contract Cheating”,
nd).
Dear ICAI Members:
Contract cheating is threatening the quality of education and is jeopardizing the reliability and integrity of diplomas granted by educational organizations around the world. The
Second International Day of Action Against Contract Cheating will take place on October 18, 2017 and coincides with
Carnegie Council’s Global Ethics Day. We need your help to
TAKE A STAND AGAINST CONTRACT CHEATING.
We want to build on the success of last year’s awareness campaign that saw over 30 educational organizations participate across 4 continents with over 20,000 posts and over 35,000 impressions made through social media about the
threats of Contract Cheating. You can help with this important day in four ways.
- Get the word out about the day to any and all organizations that care about the quality and integrity of the educational system. More information about the day is available at the following site

- Learn more about Contract Cheating by downloading the free ICAI Institutional Toolkit to Combat Contract Cheating available at

- Take part in the International Whiteboard Declaration – host a Whiteboard Declaration Activity on October 18 by having members in your organization write their own personal message about contract cheating then post these
declarations twitter using the #defeatthecheat and #excelwithintegrity hashtags [more detailed information about the International Whiteboard Declaration is available at
http://contractcheating.weebly.com/whiteboard-declarations.html]
- Host and personalize awareness events on the Day of Action in your organization through activities that will engage and inform students, faculty, staff, and leaders about the threat of Contract Cheating. Get creative and consider multi-media approaches
to get awareness about the problem out to members in your learning community. Post your efforts to twitter using the #defeatthecheat and #excelwithintegrity hashtags
