PostDoc positions open at the ProteinFormatics laboratory in Leipzig / Berlin Full-time 40 hrs. per week, temporary employment, payment in accordance with TV-L Starting dates: Oct 2019, March 2018 The ProteinFormatics laboratory located at the Institutes of Medical Physics and Biophysics at the University of Leipzig and the Charité University Medicine Berlin, offers an international and stimulating environment for research in structural biology of membrane proteins. In close collaboration with experts working with complementary experimental methods in Leipzig, Berlin, the University of Copenhagen and Stanford University (BIH Einstein Visiting Fellow Prof. Brian Kobilka) we are using MD simulations to investigate structural, functional and pharmaceutical properties of G protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) and their complexes. Two highly motivated and experienced researchers are sought to contribute to the group's efforts in this area of research. Successful applicants will be involved in set up and analysis of MD simulations of class A and B GPCRs and their complexes with G proteins or arrestins. Candidates should have a PhD degree in a relevant field, extensive experience in setup and analysis of MD simulations and expertise in enhanced sampling techniques. Expertise in GPCR related research and good command of the german language would be considered a great bonus. Familiarity with scientific programming would be an advantage.
