Dear MCGers,

My colleague Stella Wisdom is organising this unconference, and given the overlap with public engagement, exhibitions and collections access, museum people interested in games are very welcome!

In Stella's words:

Dear all,
On Saturday 12th August, 12:30 to 16:30, we are holding a free game themed Library Camp at the Knowledge Centre in The British Library, London.
This game themed Library Camp, is intended as a warm up to International Games Week (http://games.ala.org/international-games-week-2017) in the autumn & to inspire librarians and library staff from all sectors to host their own game events. It will be a great opportunity for all those interested in any aspect of gaming in libraries to get together and share ideas.
Library Camps are unconferences aimed at librarians and library staff, but open to all with an interest in libraries. For more information about unconferences go to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unconference#Format
The key thing about unconferences is that the participants propose and facilitate their own sessions to be run throughout the event. A number of sessions will be running in parallel during the event, as we have the use of a few rooms in The Knowledge Centre.
For more information about the event please visit: http://gamesandglams.blogspot.co.uk
To book a free place go to: https://gamelibcamp.eventbrite.co.uk
We'll be using #GameLibCamp17 to discuss the event on Twitter etc.

Cheers, Mia
