Hi Gill,

We have listed and linked to a large number of healthcare/science databases organised by WHO geographic region. There are sections for research study/trials registries and databases.  The list was set up for finding randomised controlled trials but most of the databases listed contain many different types of study, not just trials.

There are links to research in searching regional databases and guidance at the end of the web page. Hope that helps,

Hi Gill

In the Cochrane Handbook http://handbook-5-1.cochrane.org/  there’s a list of regional databases (see Section 6.2.1 Box 6.2.a Examples of regional electronic bibliographic databases).

Home > Front page. Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions . Version 5.1.0 [updated March 2011] Editors: Julian PT Higgins and Sally Green

The Handbook doesn’t provide link to page, but searching for the box title will bring it up.

Subject: Regional databases

Dear All,

I have been asked by a researcher if I can point her to any databases that specifically deal with healthcare literature from South Asia. She also said that she would like to know more about "regional databases".  Does anyone have any knowledge in this area?

Many thanks
