Hi Ian,
Partition is being marked in museums, I’m not sure how much it has been emphasised as a national issue for culture to address, but here are some examples of individual projects:
Bradford Peace Museum:
Sampad:

Migration Museum:

Lowry Museum:

Manchester Museum:

HLF:

Science Museum:

I would also recommend getting touch with New Walk Museum, Leicester. Their website is the council website so they don’t show details of current projects, but they’ve worked with Leicester’s South Asian communities quite a bit, so they
may be doing so for this.
If you want to compare the British response to that in India, Amritsar has founded a whole new museum on the topic:
Hope this helps!
All the best,
Holly

Have museum services been marking Indian Partition? Have their been any exhibitions, learning events about this turning point in history, that is passing out of living memory?

This conference will look to our future, learning from our sector’s rapid responses to change and pursuing greater security, communication and creativity. We will explore exciting new research, fresh examples of best practice and promising
innovations that will inspire museum, heritage and cultural professionals at any level.
Cuts to budgets and resources have had a large impact on the museum, heritage and cultural sectors – particularly their learning programmes. We are more responsive and flexible, but it is now time that those involved with learning become
even more proactive, experimental and able to take the lead to ensure our long-term resilience and sustainability.
GEM members benefit from a reduced conference fee and can make further savings by booking for the whole conference!
