The Emergency Response Department at Public Health England are seeking a Senior Mathematical Modeller to provide specialist expertise implementing and developing inferential statistical and mathematical models as high performance computer
programs.
Job requirements
Proficiency in the use and application of interpreted maths and statistical software languages. In particular Python and R but others such as Matlab, Lisp, etc. would be acceptable.
(Desirable) Proficiency in the use of compiled languages such as C, C++, Java, Fortran, OpenCL, CUDA, etc. Either stand alone or used in conjunction with an interpreted language for computationally intensive sections of code.
First Degree in mathematics/statistics/computing or related discipline involving high mathematical/statistical content.
(Desirable) Higher degree (preferably PhD).

partnership with others both within PHE and from outside, we collate data and information from across the world on new and emerging infectious disease threats including potential bioterrorist threats. This information is integrated with a wide range of other
UK specific data in order to develop risk assessments and mathematical models and other IT/computer-based applications to assist with emergency planning, training and response functions.
