Dear Colleagues,

Please can I draw your attention to a permanent Band 8a Principal Clinical Scientist post that is being advertised at St Thomas' Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Biochemical Sciences department within Viapath Analytics, based at St Thomas' Hospital, London. Biochemical Sciences is comprised of the Inherited Metabolic Disease laboratory, the Purine Research Laboratory, the South East Thames Newborn Screening Service and the Reference Chemistry laboratories. The Reference Chemistry laboratory offers a varied repertoire of tests including endocrine, immunochemistry (proteins) and stone analysis (FT-IR), and was also the first service of its kind to offer anti-TNF therapeutic drug monitoring in the UK.

Working primarily in Reference Chemistry, the post holder, together with other laboratory colleagues, will be responsible for the development and delivery of a broad range of complex, specialised diagnostic procedures including the provision of clinical advice, collaborative research and service development. The job holder has a degree of individual responsibility and should be HCPC registered. Comprehensive knowledge and experience of specialised Biochemistry tests is a prerequisite.
