If you cross reference your info skills and other Library training to various professional codes and standards and competencies (to demonstrate its relevance or even certify it is some way??)
then which ones do you use please?
A cursory search has given me:
Supports NMC (2015) The Code:
Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses and midwives
6 Always practise in line with the best available evidence
·
To achieve this, you must:
·
6.1 make sure that any information or advice given is evidence-based, including information relating to using any healthcare products or services, and
·
6.2 maintain the knowledge and skills you need for safe and effective practice.
NMC (2017)
Enabling professionalism in nursing and midwifery practice
The individual practitioner is responsible for upholding his or her own professional practice through:
·
Enabling person-centred and evidence-informed practice by:
•
Incorporating up-to-date evidence in daily practice
•
Sharing and disseminating evidence-informed practice
•
Participation in the generation of new evidence and working innovativel
College of Occupational Therapists:
Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct
·
Section Six: Developing and using the profession’s evidence base
GMC (2013) Good professional practice
Domain1: Knowledge skills and performance : Develop and maintain your professional performance
And now I’m starting to realise it could be a really long job to flag up relevance to all of our client groups!
Does anyone use the KSF too? Or just the KSF by itself?
Are there generic one for all the AHP s ?? – she said hopefully J
Any pointers much appreciated
Kind regards
Jan
