Call for abstracts for consideration for the 2018 themed issue of the New Review of Academic Librarianship

The New Review of Academic Librarianship is planning its themed issue for 2018. This will be entitled “Positioning the academic library within the institution: structures and challenges”.

This themed issue will cover a wide range of topics relating to the theme such as institutional organisational structures, emerging responsibilities, new ways of working, leading multidisciplinary teams and managing different professional identities.
Therefore, we are now seeking abstracts which focus on these themes, in order to commission full articles for the special issue. Topics may include, but are not limited to:

•	The developing strategic roles and responsibilities of library services
•	Visibility of the library within converged or super-converged services
•	Strategic drivers for organisational change
•	Developing new roles and teams in order to meet the strategic demands of the institution (e.g. Research Support, TEF, Digital Archives)
•	Relationship management and new ways of working
•	Function based organisational structures
•	Leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams within the library
•	Protecting and developing professional identities within hybrid teams

In addition to abstracts, we are also seeking an author to provide a literature review around the theme.

Abstracts for consideration for developing into papers for the themed issue are requested by the 13th August 2017.
