APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING

Afternoon all

I am working with a leading London University which is recruiting for an Assistant Librarian job. This would suit someone with a well-rounded skill set. This is a full-time job to start ASAP until the end of November in the first instance.

Assistant Librarian: Resources and Information Services

Working within a hospital library, the Assistant Librarian: Resources and Information Services will support the provision of library services to university students and staff, as well as NHS staff. The Assistant Librarian’s chief responsibilities will be to contribute to collection management activities, oversee the work of other members of the library team, assist with the library’s financial procedures and assist in the delivery of training in the use of the full range of online learning and information resources supported by the library.

This job would suit someone with recent relevant experience, particularly experience of training and literature searching (essential), some experience of operational library management (essential), and some experience of book ordering and collection management (desirable). The Assistant Librarian will need to be a strong communicator and demonstrate a flexible and open approach to taking on various responsibilities as required. The ability to work early mornings is essential (preferably 08:30 but a punctual 09:00 start would be acceptable). A background in health/medicine would be desirable, but not essential, especially if you have lots of other relevant experience.

This job is a varied opportunity to work within a well-known university library service, as well as providing high quality library services to NHS staff. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in a job with a mix of challenges then this could be the ideal job for you.
