Also noticed on our PC you can authorise without a Vendor ID it is in the small print at the bottom of the command box in Adobe Digital Editions.

Hi all
They are downloading as acsm files here at Essex but they are automatically opening in Adobe DE (for me anyway)
As a workaround you can associate ascm files with ADE, so that they open automatically.
On the control panel of your PC > programs > make file type always open in a specific program.
It strikes me that either there has been a change on the DE end which has upset this setting or there is a new version of ADE which has done the same (I did download
a new one recently and had to do the above step for Ebook central books).
All the best

Morning All
I'm working offsite today and it's the same for us so it's across the entire platform.
Probably best to send to the Dawsonera helpdesk as I'm waiting for my account manager to reply on two emails from last week!
Best regards
Hilary

Subject: Dawsonera eBooks - ACSM file type
Dear LIS-Linkers,
Today at Goldsmiths College we have noticed our Dawsonera eBooks are downloading as ACSM files rather than the usual PDF (i.e. files that open in Adobe Digital Editions rather than
the standard Adobe reader).
Have any other libraries noticed the same thing?
Best wishes,
Marion
