Dear All,

For those who are users of Copac Collection Management (CCM) Tools we hope you will be interested to hear about an upgrade to functionality which we have just made live.

The ‘My Library Groups’ function, which enables users to set up their own groups of libraries to incorporate into searches, was launched at the end of last year.   Since then we have gathering feedback about the way results and visualisations incorporating such searches are displayed.  Originally the results and visualisations included all libraries with holdings of the item(s) searched for, rather than restricting display to the libraries in the selected group.  This evidently caused some confusion for users.

Over the last few months we have been working on revising the My Library Groups functionality to tackle this issue and we have just launched these changes on the CCM Tools interface.  The changes are as follows:

Following a search incorporating a Library Group, Region or individually selected range of libraries:

·        The results list and visualisations will default to display holdings of ONLY the libraries in the selected group or region.

·        From the Results Display and Visualisation screens, the option to change the display to include holdings for all libraries holding the item(s) OR only libraries in the selected group/region is available on the left side of the screen.  The display can be switched between the two views using the Update button.

·        The option to change the number of holding libraries included in the results/visualisation is retained on the left of the screen.

·        The Export facility also incorporates the option to include the selected libraries or all holding libraries in the data export.

·        Tool tips and Help pages have been updated to reflect these changes.  See https://ccm.copac.jisc.ac.uk/help/ for more detail.

·        A consequence of the changes is that results sets in the Batch Search History will need to be re-run to obtain a refreshed results set if required.

We are very keen to receive your feedback on the changes, so please drop me a line with your comments or contact the Copac Helpdesk at [log in to unmask]  The changes were more complex than we expected, so apologies that they have taken a bit longer to implement than we hoped.  Further improvements to functionality are in the pipeline.

Best wishes,
