Dear colleagues,
This forum has devoted the substantial space to discussion of (optimal/appropriate) decision-making. We have argued for some time that this question cannot be separated from the question of theories of rational choice. In the paper, which we just published we list all rationality theories and argue that both policy and our individual decision-making depends on the choice of theory under which we decide to operate. We draw on writings from the Great Rationality Debate from the fields of philosophy, economics, and psychology, to identify core ingredients of rationality commonly encountered across various theoretical models.
We believe that drawing attention of medical community to the Great Rationality Debate will stimulate additional contributions and  improve the way we make healthcare decisions. Here is the link to the paper:
