This training offers the chance to learn the basics of a new mixed method called DPS, that uses both Cluster Analysis and Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) to identify dynamic patterns in longitudinal
small sample data. For example, comparing patterns over time in the paths taken by countries, regions or organisations. The method also has some potential to examine small samples of individuals.
The summer school will:
·
Explain the basics of the DPS method
·
Allow participants to try out the basics of the methods using SPSS and Excel -
this to run through the different stages of the research.
·
Encourage participants to begin using the method with their own dataset, if they wish, (or using data made available).
